We Are In An Oil Crisis!

I’m not talking about gas prices or OPEC. The Church is in an oil crisis. Some of you know the parable in Matthew.

Matt. 25:3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

Oil here is likened to intimacy with Jesus, that which sustains the fire of God in our lives. We can be blessed by other peoples oil, we can benefit from their experience with God, but when Christ returns, what matters is us possessing our own oil! You cannot receive an impartation of oil! Only fire. Fire will burn out without sustained, deep communion with the spirit of God. This coming harvest will be carried out by those who not only have the fire of God (God upon them) but the Oil. (God within them)

We don’t burn out, if God’s fellowship (Presence) is our priority. The only way oil is being developed in my life, has been through extended times of prayer, bible reading and fasting on a regular basis. As we grow in our relationship with the Lord, we grow in our capacity for His fellowship. 5 min is no longer enough, 30 min daily bible, is no longer enough…this revelation doesn’t come through a renewed self determination to spend more time with God, but an increased hunger for His fellowship. We must get oil! YOU must get oil! Know Him well and know Him deep. May Christ dwell deep in your inward man, and burn strong for God! – Richy Clark
